Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the role

Executive Aviation is seeking a full-time Ground Service Equipment (GSE) Technician to maintain and repair the fleet of vehicles and equipment used at Saskatoon Airport. The technician will work independently while reporting remotely to the shop foreman and will support multiple bases as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems of GSE and vehicles.
• Evaluate parts for reuse, repair or replacement and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Use hand and power tools, and operate overhead or mobile cranes and forklifts to complete assignments.
• Diagnose equipment problems, prioritize repairs and take corrective action to minimise impact on operations.
• Prepare and submit maintenance records, timesheets and other required documentation.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the use of appropriate protective clothing and equipment.
• Provide on-call support and travel to other bases in the network for PMI or emergency repairs.

Required profile

• Licensed automotive technician or apprentice with on-call availability.
• Physical ability to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel and push/pull for extended periods; lift up to 70 lb (32 kg) regularly.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada, clean criminal background check and a valid driver’s licence.
• Legally able to travel outside Canada when required.
