Fractional Controller – Hybrid (Canada)

About the role

Aspire CFO is seeking a hands‑on Fractional Controller to lead the financial operations of multiple client companies across Canada. This full‑time, hybrid position combines on‑site work in Concord, ON twice a week with remote responsibilities, allowing you to shape scalable finance functions while mentoring accounting teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of bookkeepers and oversee the automation of financial processes for several clients.
• Ensure accurate monthly close of client books using customized checklists.
• Oversee payments, payroll, collections, and sales‑tax filing processes.
• Coordinate audit and review engagements to meet timelines.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, budget‑to‑actual analyses, forecasts, and other ad‑hoc financial reports.
• Support the CFO in creating board materials and strategic presentations.

Required profile

• CPA earned at a reputable accounting firm, preferably a Big 4.
• 7–10 years of progressive finance experience, including 3–5 years as a Controller or Director of Finance.
• Proven track record of redesigning finance functions and leveraging automation.
• Detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to synthesize complex data for executive decisions.
• Ethical, dependable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
