Fire Suppression Technician

About the role

Everguard Fire and Safety is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician for its Sudbury operation. The role involves delivering on‑site fire protection services, including installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of various fire suppression systems for commercial, industrial and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities

• Verify system conditions, validate installation compliance and component locations.
• Test, replace and repair mechanical and electrical components of fire suppression systems.
• Perform required mechanical and electrical tests to certify proper operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and product manuals.
• Install systems according to manufacturer instructions and validate operation after installation.
• Prepare materials, complete daily work order reports and optimize material utilization.
• Mentor trainees and field service labour while adhering to safe work practices.
• Participate in 24/7 on‑call emergency service.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of field experience in fire suppression or related mechanical trade.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to remote client sites.
• Professional, customer‑service mindset with strong communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to address changing priorities and overtime as needed.

Required skills

• Installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of fire suppression equipment.

• Interpretation of blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of relevant fire codes and standards.
