Field Engineer Co‑Op Student

About the role

The Field Engineer Co‑Op Student will support the site team on active construction projects, gaining hands‑on experience in daily field operations, concrete work, surveying, and documentation. Working under the Site Superintendent, the student will develop practical knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, and quality control.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with concrete volume calculations, ordering, placement tracking and coordination of inspections.
• Support building layout and surveying activities, taking field measurements and identifying discrepancies.
• Maintain and update site drawings, specifications, logs, timesheets, purchase orders and daily job diaries.
• Help develop short‑term look‑ahead schedules and track progress against the construction schedule.
• Participate in quality control, health & safety activities and document observations for the project team.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or related program.
• Eligible for a co‑op or internship term through the educational institution.
• Strong interest in gaining field‑based construction experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiarity with Procore or other construction management software.
• Experience or knowledge of MS Project for scheduling.
