Emergency Medicine Physician – Prince Rupert, BC

About the role

We are looking for a physician passionate about rural medicine and outdoor adventure to join our emergency department in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. The position offers flexible part‑time hours (0.25–0.75 FTE) and the chance to shape a practice that balances professional challenge with a coastal lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 emergency medicine coverage across rotating shift patterns.
• Participate in primary‑care, anesthesia, surgical assist, opioid agonist therapy, long‑term care and outreach to Indigenous communities as needed.
• Collaborate with a supportive team of family physicians and specialists serving Prince Rupert and surrounding villages.
• Engage in mentorship, coaching and buddy‑shift programs during the transition to practice.

Required profile

• Strong interest in rural and coastal health environments.
• Willingness to work flexible part‑time schedules and multiple shift times.
• Openness to pursue the Practice Eligibility route or Emergency Education Program for certification.
• Team‑oriented attitude and commitment to community‑focused care.
