Emergency Medicine Physician

About the role

The North Island Hospital in Campbell River is seeking board‑eligible or board‑certified Emergency Medicine Physicians to join its busy Emergency Department, which serves a regional population of over 50,000 and handles roughly 70 visits per day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide acute emergency care to patients in a high‑volume ER (≈25,000 visits per year).
• Collaborate with ICU, general surgery, anesthesia, OB/GYN, pediatrics, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and ENT teams.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and maintain accurate medical documentation.
• Teach and supervise medical students and residents through the University of British Columbia’s Island Medical Program.

Required profile

• Eligibility for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Medical degree and board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality care in a community hospital setting.
