Director of Operations – Western Canada

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead multi‑site warehouse and logistics functions across Western Canada. Based in Calgary, you will shape operational strategy, support business expansion and ensure consistent, high‑quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Executive Leadership Team to translate corporate objectives into operational plans and measurable results.
• Lead the startup, integration and ongoing management of new facilities, including regional and national expansion projects.
• Collaborate with Business Development on customer proposals, pricing, contract negotiations and service level agreements.
• Develop and implement strategies that maximize revenue, improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining exceptional service levels.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, acting as the senior operational contact.
• Travel as required to support customers, operational initiatives and strategic objectives.
• Establish and maintain operational processes, procedures and performance standards aligned with organizational goals.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Kaizen and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
• Oversee budgets, financial performance and P&L accountability across multiple sites.
• Lead, mentor and develop operational leadership teams, fostering accountability and professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, regulatory and company standards.

Required profile

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in warehouse, logistics, distribution or supply chain operations.
• Mandatory experience in a Third‑Party Logistics (3PL) environment.
• Proven success leading multi‑site operations and managing large teams through direct and indirect reports.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, transportation and related processes.
