Data Analyst – Canadian Emergency Department Research Network

About the role

The Data Analyst will support the Canadian Emergency Department Research Network (CEDRN) by generating, cleaning, transforming, and analysing large-scale emergency department datasets. Reporting to the Principal Investigator and CEDRN Coordinating Centre Lead, you will play a pivotal role in turning raw registry data into actionable insights that improve patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Extract, clean, and manipulate CEDRN registry data and EMR extracts (Epic, MEDITECH, Cerner).
• Develop and document data analysis pipelines, ensuring reproducibility and methodological transparency.
• Create visualisations and reports to communicate findings to researchers, clinicians, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the research team to interpret results and advise on data‑driven decision making.
• Maintain up‑to‑date documentation of data processes and analytical methods.

Required profile

• Graduate‑level education in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, epidemiology, computer science, health informatics).
• Experience working with large health‑care datasets and electronic medical records.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EMR systems: Epic, MEDITECH, Cerner.
• Data cleaning, transformation, and analysis techniques.
• Data visualisation and reporting.
