Course Lecturer – Fall 2026 (ARTH 302)

About the role

The Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer for the Fall 2026 term to teach ARTH 302 – Aspects of Canadian Art. This is a term‑long teaching appointment that includes preparing and delivering lectures, assessing student work, and participating in departmental activities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present weekly lectures for ARTH 302 (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:05 p.m. – 2:25 p.m.).
• Create a detailed course outline or syllabus and update it as needed.
• Design and grade assignments, exams, and provide constructive feedback.
• Hold regular office hours and be available for the make‑up class on Thursday, December 3, 2026.
• Participate in departmental meetings and collaborate with faculty members.

Required profile

• Ph.D. or ABD Ph.D. candidate in Art History.
• Some teaching experience in Art History is an asset.
• Research background or scholarly interest in Canadian art history is preferred.
• Submit a curriculum vitae, a proposed course outline or sample syllabus, and a letter of application.
