Corporate Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a Corporate Legal Counsel to join our team in Harley, Ontario, reporting to the VP of Corporate Services. The role provides strategic legal support across precast manufacturing, construction, and real‑estate development activities, helping senior leadership manage risk and ensure compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary legal advisor on corporate, construction and real‑estate matters.
• Provide guidance on legal implications of strategic and operational decisions.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal and contractual risks throughout project lifecycles.
• Draft, review and negotiate engineering, procurement, construction and partnership agreements.
• Maintain contract templates, processes and agreement‑tracking systems.
• Support corporate governance, board matters and statutory record‑keeping.
• Assist with claims management, contract changes and dispute resolution.
• Liaise with external counsel, consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Support land acquisitions, due‑diligence and development transactions.
• Develop internal policies and deliver training on contract best practices and legal compliance.

Required profile

• L.L.B. or J.D. and admission to practice law in Ontario.
• 5–10 years of post‑call experience, preferably in construction, real‑estate development or manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts such as CCDC, ACEC‑Ontario and stipulated‑price contracts.
• Experience with project financing, permitting and land transactions is an asset.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• High commercial judgment, integrity and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Familiarity with labour relations and employment law is a plus.
