About the role
The Coordinator, Arena Events and Operations provides front‑line management of the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, overseeing daily desk operations, event scheduling and student staff coordination. This role supports the Senior Manager, Arena Operations and ensures smooth delivery of recreation programs and private bookings.
Key responsibilities
- Manage front‑desk activities, including cash reconciliation, cash handling, and sales reporting.
- Coordinate facility scheduling with internal athletic units and external clients.
- Facilitate private bookings, equipment rentals, and booking contracts.
- Oversee inventory management and maintain accurate records.
- Support and supervise a team of approximately 40 student‑staff members.
- Maintain a presence at the desk for roughly 60% of the workday.
- Adapt shift patterns to seasonal, event and facility needs, including afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Required profile
- Experience in front‑line customer service and facility operations.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate student staff.
- Strong organizational skills for scheduling and inventory control.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
