Construction Superintendent

About the role

Deciantis Construction Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead institutional and industrial renovation projects across Southern Ontario. You will ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence while coordinating a diverse team of trades and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain all site health and safety policies.
• Supervise and coordinate on‑site construction activities and sub‑trades.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Arrange independent testing, inspections, and coordinate with building departments and regulatory authorities.
• Manage renovation work in occupied facilities, minimizing disruption to client operations.
• Secure, organize, and maintain the site daily.
• Implement approved change orders and assist with quantity take‑offs and project planning.
• Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams.
• Monitor progress and proactively address scheduling or site‑related issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of experience in the ICI construction industry.
• Experience managing institutional and industrial renovation projects valued between $10M–$25M.
• Hands‑on construction background is a strong asset.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication abilities.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• In‑depth understanding of Ontario health and safety regulations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
