Commercial Mortgage Underwriter

About the role

Join our vibrant and forward‑thinking commercial team as a Commercial Mortgage Underwriter. You will underwrite both CMHC‑insured and conventional commercial mortgages, applying policies and standards with creativity and precision while meeting service goals and annual targets.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial credit facilities ranging from $2.5 million to $150 million, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines and swift documentation.
• Coordinate daily with external partners and internal teams to streamline processes, meet funding deadlines and deliver exceptional service.
• Manage multiple deals simultaneously, prioritising tasks to meet prescribed deadlines.
• Perform administrative and reporting duties that support the department and provide insights to senior management.

Required profile

• 4–5 years of commercial mortgage underwriting experience with a proven track record of service excellence.
• Post‑secondary education in business or finance (diploma/degree preferred).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational abilities, with excellent written and oral communication.
• Bilingualism is a plus and enthusiasm for industry events and market trends.
