Buyer – Procurement Specialist (Apparel & Athletics)

About the role

The Buyer will support Avery Dennison's fast‑moving apparel and athletics business by managing end‑to‑end procurement activities. Reporting with moderate guidance, this position acts as the connective tissue between Sales, Finance, Production and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Create, track and close Purchase Orders, entering high‑volume data accurately and resolving logistics bottlenecks.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or excess waste, anticipating future demand to keep stock lean.
• Manage departmental budgets, audit invoices and ensure a strong return on investment for all spend.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Finance, Production) to align procurement actions with overall business goals.
• Conduct ethical sourcing audits, reviewing supplier labor practices and environmental impact.

Required profile

• Sports‑oriented professional with a solid analytical background.
• Experience in intermediate‑level procurement, supplier vetting and contract assistance.
• Ability to solve straightforward operational problems using established purchasing techniques.
• Comfort working under moderate supervision while coordinating across multiple departments.
