Advanced Care Paramedic

About the role

The Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) provides critical emergency care on scene and during transport. You will assess patients, administer advanced life‑support treatments, and operate ambulances or other EMS vehicles in a variety of weather and terrain conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess emergency scenes and patients, determining appropriate care and transport needs.
• Operate ambulances or non‑emergent transport vehicles safely.
• Administer medications, ALS airway adjuncts, and electrical therapy.
• Lead the ALS crew in delivering clinical care during transport and at scenes.
• Ensure EMS vehicles are stocked, equipped, and maintained.
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 105 lb, kneeling, and working in awkward positions.

Required profile

• Non‑restricted registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics as an Advanced Care Paramedic.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPR certification.
• Valid Class 4 Alberta driver’s licence with a clean five‑year abstract (≤6 demerits).
• Successful completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test within the past six months.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and remote locations.

• Hourly wage ranging from $40.29 to $53.06 CAD.
• 12‑hour shifts on an 8‑week cycle (28 shifts per cycle).
