About the role
The Cowichan Valley Regional District is seeking an Accounting Clerk III to join its Financial Operations team. This full‑time, hybrid role supports a range of municipal financial functions while providing excellent service to internal departments and the public.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the utilities master file and provide related information to stakeholders.
- Reconcile sub‑ledgers and general‑ledger accounts.
- Process accounts payable, including purchase‑card transactions.
- Generate financial reports and support month‑end closing activities.
- Process and maintain accounts receivable records.
Required profile
- Two‑year diploma in Business Administration or related field with an accounting specialization.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience, preferably in regional or municipal government finance.
Required skills
- Reconciliation of sub‑ledger and general‑ledger accounts.
What we offer
- Guaranteed 35 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑4:30 pm with flex‑time options.
- Hybrid work arrangement – up to 1‑2 remote days per week after training.
- Wage rates of $37.30‑$39.44 per hour (2025 rates) under the CUPE collective agreement.
- Comprehensive benefits as outlined in the CUPE agreement.
