About the role
The Accessibility Shuttle Driver provides safe, reliable transportation for students, staff, faculty and visitors with mobility challenges across UBC's Point Grey campus. Working within the Centre for Accessibility, you will support an inclusive campus environment by operating the shuttle on scheduled routes and handling advance booking requests.
Key responsibilities
- Receive and coordinate pickup requests via phone and online booking software.
- Drive the shuttle along designated routes, ensuring compliance with UBC traffic regulations.
- Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher and program staff throughout each shift.
- Complete shift, incident and vehicle inspection reports accurately.
- Uphold client confidentiality and gather feedback to improve the service.
- Keep the vehicle clean and assist with promotional activities for the program.
Required profile
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (or equivalent).
- Availability for at least one four‑hour shift per week, between 8:00 am and 7:30 pm.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact professionally with a diverse client base.
- Commitment to the philosophy of accessibility and inclusive service.
