Youth Worker (Part-Time)

About the role

BGC Okanagan is looking for a part‑time Youth Worker to join the Downtown Youth Centre team. You will help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where young people feel supported, connected and empowered.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and evaluate programs and activities for youth.
• Plan, coordinate and deliver support services, including engaging virtual programs.
• Supervise youth, ensure their safety and report any concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain appropriate personal boundaries and model respectful behaviour.
• Collaborate with youth, families, staff and volunteers to support young people during challenging times.
• Encourage independence, decision‑making, self‑esteem and community involvement.

Required profile

• Diploma, certificate or relevant experience working with children or youth in recreation, education or social services.
• Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Successful completion of the agency’s screening process, including a criminal record check.
