Youth Services Manager

About the role

BGC Okanagan is seeking a Youth Services Manager to lead the daily operations of Penny Lane, a short‑term stabilization home for youth aged 13‑18. The role involves coaching a multidisciplinary team, fostering a trauma‑informed environment, and ensuring high‑quality care and safety for vulnerable youth.

Key responsibilities

• Research and apply best practices, championing the low‑barrier stabilization home internally and externally.
• Oversee daily operations, supervise staff and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with licensing, safety and risk‑management standards.
• Maintain accurate SHSS documentation, including daily logs, incident reports and clinical notes.
• Build relationships with government agencies, families, community partners and professionals.
• Develop, implement and evaluate care plans, lead care circles and monitor youth progress toward stabilization.
• Coordinate supplemental services, manage operational and funder reporting, and support budget development.
• Lead, coach and mentor staff, facilitate training, and assist with recruitment and performance management.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in a related human or social services field.
• Minimum three years experience supporting children, youth and families, including at least one year in a supervisory/administrative role.
• Knowledge of trauma‑informed, attachment‑based and relationship‑based interventions (asset).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Publisher.
