Warehouseperson A-2 (Forklift Operator)

About the role

IKO Industries Ltd., a manufacturer of roofing and building materials based in Brampton, is hiring a Warehouseperson A-2. Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the person maintains production and quality by operating machinery and equipment. This is a full-time, non-unionized position.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift while keeping a valid forklift certification.
• Load and unload trucks and guide drivers to the right spots for safe loading and unloading.
• Communicate with drivers to check the accuracy of loads and loading/unloading safety requirements.
• Locate products in the yard and warehouse using the FIFO system.
• Pick and sort stock with a forklift, aiming for minimal errors.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Work outside in the elements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Class 1 forklift licence and 2 years of forklift experience.
• Able to read a pick list.
• Able to work overtime, including weekends, and to pass a fit-for-duty physical.
• Previous experience in materials handling and distribution warehouses preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good organization, time management and prioritizing skills.
