VP Controller – Financial Services

About the role

The VP Controller will lead legal entity governance, financial reporting and audit support for a global Institutional Services business. You will partner with business units to design, automate and standardise processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee legal‑entity financial statements, budgets, board reporting and capital planning, providing audit support for EY, corporate and regulatory reviews.
• Support the IS Business Unit controller on process‑design, automation and global standardisation projects.
• Document and improve process controls and procedures, aligning roles, timelines and deliverables.
• Provide IS governance oversight, work with the Controller COE on balance‑sheet substantiation and assurance metrics, and participate in risk‑governance forums.
• Lead discussions with LFOs across all business‑unit balance sheets and assurance metrics.
• Drive the quarterly A/R reserve process and conduct impairment analyses for goodwill and intangibles.
• Manage ICAMS responses and Archer initiatives to ensure consistency across business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance.
• 8‑10+ years of accounting experience in the financial‑services industry.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and goal‑execution track record.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Customer‑service orientation and ability to work collaboratively.
• Deep understanding of internal controls, assessments and issue resolution.
• Experience with legal‑entity financial reporting and accounting.
• Familiarity with regulatory issues affecting the financial‑services sector.
