Visitor Services Attendant II – Inventory

About the role

Join Parks Canada as a Visitor Services Attendant II and work in the stunning mountain and ocean environment of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, handling gate entry, campground services, and mobile traffic management while ensuring a safe and enjoyable park experience.

Key responsibilities

• Operate point‑of‑sale devices at entry gates to sell passes and process cash or card transactions.
• Provide accurate information, resolve visitor inquiries and complaints, and demonstrate tasks to colleagues.
• Manage campground operations: greet guests, confirm reservations, sell campsites, and support site clean‑up.
• Work on the Skyline Mobile Gate team to set up and take down traffic tents, deliver safety information, and enforce park regulations.
• Maintain accurate revenue records and assist with compliance duties.

Required profile

• Legal right to work in Canada (citizen, permanent resident, or work permit).
• Residency in or within 2000 km of Cheticamp or Ingonish, Nova Scotia.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and stand for long periods.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Experience using point‑of‑sale equipment for cash and card transactions.
• Basic accounting or revenue‑tracking abilities.
• Effective verbal communication in English.
