Vice President of Engineering

About the role

The Vice President of Engineering will partner with the founders and product leadership to scale VendorPM’s engineering organization. Reporting to the COO, you will own technical architecture, engineering culture, and delivery execution as the platform supports tens of thousands of daily users.

Key responsibilities

• Define and guide architectural decisions across the NestJS, PostgreSQL, Apollo GraphQL, and React stack.
• Drive the technical strategy for AI integration, evaluating when to extend the TypeScript stack or introduce Python for ML workloads.
• Balance technical debt reduction with feature delivery, building team judgment for trade‑offs.
• Lead and mentor a team of ~10 engineers, setting standards for quality, ownership, and velocity.
• Improve engineering delivery predictability and quality while maintaining morale.

Required profile

• 10‑15 years of experience building or transforming engineering organizations.
• Deep fluency with modern web architectures on AWS or GCP.
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to contribute code when needed.
• Proven experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast‑moving startup environments.
