Vice President, Middle Market – Ontario Region

About the role

Zurich Canada is seeking an experienced Vice President to lead the Ontario Middle Market business. Based in Toronto, you will shape underwriting strategy, drive profitable portfolio performance, deepen broker relationships and develop underwriting talent across the province.

Key responsibilities

• Set performance targets and financial budgets for the underwriting unit.
• Align underwriting strategy with broader business goals.
• Develop and mentor a team of underwriters.
• Review and refine underwriting processes and policies.
• Manage relationships with brokers and key stakeholders to identify growth opportunities.
• Participate in leadership meetings to guide policy and change initiatives.
• Underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority.
• Collaborate with broker partners to drive profitable growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of underwriting, market‑facing or risk‑management experience in commercial insurance.
• 5+ years of people‑management experience, preferably in Middle Market Property & Casualty lines.
