Veterinary Technician – Small Animal & Emergency Care

About the role

Join a leading veterinary specialty and critical care hospital in Vancouver as a Veterinary Technician. You will work in a fast‑paced animal hospital environment, providing hands‑on care to small animals requiring emergency and routine treatments.

Key responsibilities

• Handle, restrain and monitor animals undergoing treatment, surgery, or diagnostic procedures.
• Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and prescribed treatments under the direction of a veterinarian.
• Provide nursing care, wound and bandage management, and rehabilitation therapy for recovering patients.
• Counsel clients on animal health, post‑operative care, and preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure a clean and safe work environment, and assist with emergency cases as needed.

Required profile

• Accurate, detail‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction.
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and on‑call shifts.
• Clear criminal record check.
