Varsity Sport Official

About the role

The Varsity Sport Official supports McGill University Athletics by managing game‑day operations for a variety of sports. Working under the direction of a supervisor, you will ensure equipment is set up, games are officiated, and statistics are accurately recorded.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and take down event equipment for conference, exhibition, tournament and playoff games.
• Officiate games and record game statistics and official game sheets.
• Operate video, public address (PA) and music systems during gameplay.
• Distribute, track and maintain a log of computer equipment used for statistics.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least one year of related experience.
• Knowledge of at least one sport (basketball, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, football, hockey, volleyball).
• Availability to work evenings (Wed‑Sat) and weekends (Sat‑Sun).
• Punctual, organized, reliable and able to multitask.

Required skills

• Strong computer skills for statistical recording.
• Video system operation.
• Public address (PA) system operation.
• Music system operation.

What we offer

• Part‑time fixed‑term contract (8 hours/week) from 11 Aug 2026 to 31 Mar 2027.
• Hourly wage of $16.85 CAD.
