UNIX System Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a skilled UNIX System Administrator to join our Montreal team. You will be responsible for implementing and managing our Linux and Solaris infrastructure while collaborating with multiple business units to ensure reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux (Red Hat) and Solaris servers.
• Manage core services such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, syslog, Kerberos, SSH, PXE, SFTP and HTTPD.
• Diagnose and resolve production‑impacting incidents in compute and storage environments.
• Work with infrastructure and engineering teams to certify new hardware and software.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and occasional weekend projects for onboarding new UNIX assets.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar UNIX/Linux administration role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux distributions (preferably Red Hat) and Solaris.
• Proficiency with networking concepts, routers, switches and firewalls.
• Ability to write intermediate to complex scripts (KSH, Bash, Perl, Python).
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with non‑technical audiences.
