Truck Driver

About the role

Gurnek Transport is seeking a reliable truck driver to handle short‑haul deliveries in the Brampton area. The role involves operating straight or articulated trucks, ensuring cargo safety, and maintaining vehicle condition.

Key responsibilities

• Load and unload goods safely.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport materials.
• Inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold‑storage equipment.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Conduct emergency roadside repairs when needed.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate with central dispatch and relay relevant information.
• Tarp and secure cargo to ensure safety and security.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education.
• 1 to less than 7 months of driving experience.
• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence and AZ class licence.
• Ability to handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and good judgement.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Organised, reliable and capable of working independently.
