Truck Driver – Full-time Permanent

About the role

ERA is seeking a permanent, full‑time truck driver to operate from Lachine, QC. The role focuses on safe, efficient transport of goods while providing professional customer service and supporting the company’s environmental goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and routing software to minimise fuel use and emissions.
• Load, unload and secure cargo, handling items up to 100 lb.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, brakes and cold‑storage equipment.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption in the driver logbook.
• Communicate with central dispatch, relay information and address customer complaints.
• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy, operating lighter special‑purpose trucks.

Required profile

• Valid Class 3/3F/DF and Class 5/5F/G licences.
• Ability to work in a dusty environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Attention to detail for vehicle inspections and documentation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interaction.
• Basic security clearance, bondable status and valid passport.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation and route‑planning software.
• Experience using computer equipment for logging and reporting.
• Vehicle inspection and maintenance knowledge.
• Accurate completion of driver logbooks, accident reports and inspection reports.
• Cargo handling and weight management.
