Transport Truck Mechanic

About the role

Prairie Truck Service is seeking a Transport Truck Mechanic to join its workshop in Blumenort. The role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial transport trucks and trailer systems in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck, trailer and automotive systems.
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults, confirm findings with a supervisor and determine repair or replacement actions.
• Perform scheduled maintenance services and test repaired systems to manufacturer specifications.
• Estimate parts and labour costs, complete work orders and record reports of problems and work performed.
• Provide customer service by advising on work performed and future repair requirements.
• Work on a variety of systems including 4‑wheel drive, diesel engines, brake, fuel and emission, HVAC, and electrical/electronic components.
• Conduct diagnostics, alignment, steering, suspension, transmission and drivetrain repairs.
• Perform welding and repair of front‑end and truck‑trailer components.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 1 to less than 2 years of experience working on commercial trucks.
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record check.
• Availability for shift, on‑call, weekend and overtime work.
• Ability to work in a dusty, noisy, outdoor workshop environment with fast‑paced demands.
