Trainer – Safety & Operations

About the role

Nutrien is seeking a Trainer to deliver safety‑focused training and support employee development across multiple departments. The role combines classroom instruction with hands‑on, on‑the‑job coaching to ensure a safe, compliant, and high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate positive safety behaviors and lead by example in both team and independent settings.
• Present existing and new training materials in classroom and on‑the‑job environments.
• Assess training needs, conduct skills‑gap analyses, and provide feedback and recommendations.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to design and update training programs for new processes or equipment.
• Evaluate departmental training programs, gather information, and propose improvements.
• Coordinate training activities across multiple departments and monitor trainee performance.
• Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience in underground operating/maintenance (in‑house journeyperson or Interprovincial Red Seal).
• Strong commitment to safety and knowledge of OH&S and mine regulations.
• Experience operating mobile equipment.
• Excellent communication, conflict‑management, and organizational skills.
• Leadership ability to foster accountability and a supportive work environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt through training.
