Temporary Full-Time Designated Early Childhood Educator

About the role

The Designated Early Childhood Educator will work under the Principal’s direction, partnering with classroom teachers to deliver a full‑day early learning program for kindergarten students. This temporary, full‑time position supports both regular and extended‑day programming.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement age‑appropriate learning activities in collaboration with classroom teachers.
• Provide supervision and support for groups of students during the extended‑day program.
• Design and maintain learning environments that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with daily routines such as washroom use, dressing, toileting, and lunchtime activities.

Required profile

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• Minimum six months of child‑care experience in an educational setting.
• Registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education full‑day kindergarten curriculum.
• Strong communication, confidentiality, and ability to follow policies.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, crouch, and assist children as needed.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
