Temporary Coordinator – International Student Programs

About the role

The Welcome Centre of the Halton District School Board is seeking a Temporary Coordinator to manage international student programs. This 35‑hour per week position supports newcomer students and families through admissions, orientation, and ongoing integration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of international student admissions, from application to departure.
• Collect, track, and process program fees and immigration documentation.
• Provide accurate information to applicants, parents, and recruitment partners about policies and procedures.
• Develop and deliver pre‑arrival and post‑arrival orientation programs.
• Coordinate extracurricular activities, logistics, budgeting, and community connections.
• Maintain student databases, generate reports, and monitor attendance.
• Assist with emergency after‑hours calls, wellness checks, and mental‑health monitoring.

Required profile

• Mid‑level qualification with at least 24 months of relevant experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school staff, partners, and external agents.
• Commitment to supporting the wellbeing and success of international students.

Required skills

• Proficiency with student information/database systems.
