Technology Lead – Android Developer

About the role

Infosys is looking for a Technology Lead specializing in Android development to join its Canadian delivery teams. The role will work closely with stakeholders across the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to architecture, design, coding, testing, and post‑deployment support.

Key responsibilities

• Define high‑level architecture and design artifacts for Android modules.
• Write high‑quality, maintainable code and lead code reviews.
• Coordinate validation activities across unit, integration, and system testing.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce best practices in Android UI, performance, and memory management.
• Collaborate with remote teams to integrate RESTful services and third‑party libraries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or at least three years of progressive experience per missing year of education.
• Minimum 7 years of IT experience, with a strong focus on Android development.
• Authorized to work in Canada without employer‑based visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to travel as required by client projects.

Required skills

• Java and Kotlin programming languages.
• Android build system and UI design principles.
• Object‑oriented design, design patterns, data structures, and test‑driven development.
• Memory management, concurrency, and Android internals.
• Architectural patterns such as MVP, MVVM, VIPER.
• REST/JSON integration, Dagger, RxJava, Retrofit, GSON, Jackson.
• Unit testing with JUnit and Mockito.
