Technical VP – GPU Applications Architecture

About the role

Huawei Canada is hiring a Technical Vice President to lead GPU Applications Architecture within its Computing Data Application Acceleration Lab. The role focuses on designing next‑generation GPU solutions for gaming, cloud rendering, VR/AR and Metaverse workloads while driving performance improvements across AI‑driven applications.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze emerging AI and 3D graphics trends (physical AI, 3DGS, autonomous driving, embodied AI) and define GPU computing requirements.
• Plan and deliver an environmental simulation and rendering platform built on self‑developed GPU architecture.
• Design hardware, system framework and software architecture for large‑scale GPU cluster systems.
• Implement intelligent solutions for massive GPU clusters and support simulation of cutting‑edge applications.
• Continuously advance the GPU technology ecosystem to maintain a competitive edge in space intelligence.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of emerging AI and GPU applications such as physical AI, embodied AI, 3DGS, and World Models.
• Experience with large‑scale projects like autopilot or robot simulation (preferred).
• Understanding of AI‑enhanced rendering techniques (DLSS, Neural Rendering) and familiarity with Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Strong background in AI chip architecture, computer architecture, operating systems and distributed training frameworks.
• Proven track record designing system architectures for high‑performance computing.

Required skills

• GPU programming languages: CUDA, OpenCL, Vulkan.
• GPU performance profiling and tuning tools.
• Design of GPU architectures and programming models.
• Experience with rendering engines (Unreal Engine, Unity) and AI‑enhanced rendering algorithms.
• Knowledge of AI chip architecture and distributed training frameworks.
