Technical Support Specialist – IT

About the role

Ontario Wholesale Energy Gas & Electric is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join its IT Help Desk team in Toronto. You will be the first point of contact for users experiencing computer, network, or software issues, ensuring rapid resolution and high service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
• Configure and install network cables, operating systems, and required software on employee workstations.
• Perform web‑server backup and recovery operations and maintain a problems‑and‑solutions log.
• Report on system and network performance, and assist in redesigning applications and software.
• Deliver user training, advice, and documentation to resolve identified difficulties.
• Maintain security standards, including basic, enhanced reliability, and confidential clearances.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP diploma or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of help‑desk or technical support experience, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Client‑focused attitude with a commitment to teamwork and honesty.
