About the role

The Department of Microbiology & Immunology seeks a Teaching Assistant for the Winter 2027 offering of MIMM 387 – The Business of Science. The role supports course delivery through grading, exam invigilation, and online content management.

Key responsibilities

Grade short written answers in quizzes and exams using the outlined format.
Enter grades into a spreadsheet for record‑keeping.
Invigilate the mid‑term examination.
Upload course content and manage student questions/comments on the MyCourses platform.

Required profile

Knowledge of immunology and microbiology, including key research methods.
Completion of MIMM 211, MIMM 214, or a comparable 200‑level biological or biomedical course.
Experience organizing content and grading within MyCourses.
Effective written and verbal communication in English; French is desirable.

Required skills

Proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) for grade entry.
Familiarity with the MyCourses learning management system.
