About the role
The Department of Microbiology & Immunology at McGill University seeks a Teaching Assistant for the Intermediate Immunology course (MIMM 314) for the Winter 2027 term. The TA will support the lecturer and students through grading, content management, and student interaction.
Key responsibilities
- Grade short written answers in quizzes and exams, record grades in a spreadsheet.
- Assist with uploading and updating course content on MyCourses.
- Respond to student questions in person or via email according to a weekly schedule.
- Monitor MyCourses and Facebook discussion groups daily, providing corrections or guidance.
- Organize and lead at least two pre‑exam tutorial or discussion sessions as needed.
- Participate in class activities such as leading group discussions for Mystery Cases and assisting with exam setup.
Required profile
- Completed Immunology courses (MIMM 214 and MIMM 314) or equivalent with strong performance.
- Effective communication skills in English; French proficiency is desirable.
- Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec at the designated campus.
