About the role
McGill University is seeking two Teaching Assistants for the Foundations of Quantitative Life Sciences course (QLSC 600D2) for the Winter 2027 term. The TAs will support the course instructor in delivering class activities, assisting students, and ensuring a smooth learning experience.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the course instructor with class activities and answer student questions.
- Conduct regular office hours to help students with assignments.
- Lead tutorial sessions and facilitate discussion.
- Perform additional duties as consulted with the instructor.
Required profile
- Domain knowledge in one or more of the following areas: bioinformatics, bioengineering, computational biology, biostatistics, biophysics, mathematical modeling, statistics.
- Previous teaching or related experience is an asset.
Required skills
- Understanding of bioinformatics concepts.
- Familiarity with computational biology methods.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and biostatistics.
What we offer
- Hourly salary of $38.46 CAD.
- 45 hours of work over the term (January 5 – April 30, 2027).
