About the role

The Gold Trail School District is seeking qualified teachers for multiple positions across its schools for the 2026‑2027 academic year. Assignments include an intermediate grade at Cayoosh Elementary in Lillooet and various secondary courses (English 8, English 8/9, CLE 10, Prep/Library) at Desert Sands Community School in Ashcroft.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum-aligned instruction for the assigned grade or subject area.
• Design and implement assessments that support learning and inform instruction.
• Integrate local Indigenous culture and traditions into lesson plans.
• Employ a variety of teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
• Incorporate experiential and inquiry‑based learning opportunities.
• Maintain a positive, well‑organized classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team initiatives.
• Utilize technology to enhance instructional delivery.

Required profile

• Certification or eligibility to teach in British Columbia.
• Relevant qualifications and experience for the posted grade or subject.
• Strong assessment practices and experience with inclusive teaching.
• Familiarity with, or commitment to learning about, local Indigenous culture.
• Demonstrated ability to create a supportive learning environment.
• Effective classroom management and organizational skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and collaborative experience.
• Willingness to integrate technology into curriculum.
