Systems Administrator

About the role

We are seeking a driven Systems Administrator to join Dawson Group in Kamloops, BC. In this full‑time, onsite position you will work closely with our Senior Systems Administrator and the broader IT team to keep our technology infrastructure reliable and secure.

Key responsibilities

• Provide help‑desk and IT support, responding to tickets promptly and escalating complex issues.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PCs, printers, peripherals, and AV equipment both remotely and on‑site.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory, user licensing, mailboxes, and security settings.
• Manage mobile devices through MDM enrollment and enforce security policies.
• Monitor system performance, diagnose problems, and implement timely resolutions.
• Support IT projects, system upgrades, and equipment lifecycle management for Dawson Group and its sister companies.
• Maintain accurate asset inventories and oversee onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Assist with server, network, and backup administration to ensure reliability and security.
• Champion cybersecurity best practices, including endpoint protection and access control.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in system administration, network support, or help‑desk roles.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and customer‑service mindset.

Required skills

• Windows and Windows Server administration.
• Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Networking fundamentals and backup systems.
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Power Automate).
• Experience with AI platforms such as Claude and Microsoft Copilot.
• Mobile device management and security policy configuration.
