Systems Administrator

About the role

The Systems Administrator will ensure the stability, security, and performance of APEGA’s computing environment. Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will manage servers, networks, and end‑user services while supporting the organization’s cybersecurity posture.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and monitor security solutions, intrusion‑prevention and detection systems.
• Manage communications platforms (email, IM) and workstation connectivity, LAN, intranet and internet applications.
• Maintain end‑user accounts, permissions, access rights and storage allocations in line with privacy and regulatory standards.
• Perform system backups, recovery procedures and disaster‑recovery planning.
• Administer servers, operating systems and associated software.
• Design, implement and maintain VMware vSphere infrastructure, including capacity planning and troubleshooting.
• Apply hardware and software upgrades, firmware patches and critical security updates.
• Research emerging technologies, cloud services and cybersecurity trends.
• Conduct network and security audits, generate required reports and respond to incidents and service requests.
