System Administrator

About the role

Gerrie Electric is seeking a System Administrator to manage and maintain the servers in its datacenter. You will work closely with the IT department and business units to ensure that all systems are secure, up‑to‑date, and performing optimally.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain servers, network infrastructure, and operating systems.
• Perform system updates, patches, configuration changes, and security upgrades.
• Provide Tier 1–2 technical support to users both in‑person and remotely.
• Maintain backups, disaster recovery plans, and data protection procedures.
• Monitor systems 24/7, detect and mitigate risks, and report incidents to IT leadership.
• Collaborate with IT colleagues and external vendors on infrastructure initiatives.
• Document configurations, assets, and procedures to ensure compliance with IT policies and cybersecurity standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in server administration and network infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of system security, patch management, and performance monitoring.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Effective communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.
