Synthetic Aperture Radar Payload Engineer – Relocation to Montreal

About the role

This position leads the design, integration, and verification of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload for LEO/MEO missions. The role offers full relocation support to Montreal, with an initial remote work period while immigration is processed.

Key responsibilities

• Define and manage functional, performance, and security requirements, ensuring traceability from mission level to subsystem level.
• Design the SAR system architecture, including antenna arrays, RF front‑end, digital beamforming, processing chain, power, thermal, and mass budgets.
• Develop and execute the Payload Verification Master Plan, leading test‑automation, environmental, and EMC campaigns.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (electrical, thermal, software, ground segment) and produce Interface Control Documents.
• Provide on‑orbit support, health monitoring, anomaly investigation, and performance reporting.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related field with 10+ years of SAR remote‑sensing system experience.
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills, comfortable interfacing with customers, suppliers, and senior leadership.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
