Supervisor, Letter Carrier

About the role

The Supervisor, Letter Carrier leads a team of letter carriers, mail service couriers and RSMCs at a postal station in Sorel. The role ensures that mail relay bundles are handled and delivered according to corporate regulations, service commitments and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and inspect daily operations to guarantee efficient sortation, routing and delivery of mail.
• Schedule staff, determine relief needs and authorize overtime when required.
• Measure distances for new or existing delivery points and propose route adjustments in collaboration with Route Measurement Officers.
• Assess relay bundle provisions and recommend changes to minimise conveyance costs.
• Supervise, coach and train employees, resolve staff issues and liaise with labour‑relations or union representatives.
• Promote workplace safety, implement health programs and take corrective actions for unsafe conditions.
• Enter employee, volume and addressing data into corporate systems, generate performance reports and monitor operational costs.
• Liaise with other supervisors to coordinate operations and resolve problems.
• Report building and equipment repairs, follow up with third parties and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Maintain positive public relations with mail delivery customers and uphold professional service standards.

Required profile

• Qualified candidates with a preference for local residents.
• Fluency in French (essential) and ability to work full‑time on a permanent basis.
• Experience supervising mail delivery or similar logistics operations.
• Strong knowledge of corporate regulations, collective agreements and safety procedures.
