About the role
The Student Recruitment Supervisor supports the Schulich School of Music by guiding prospective students through the admissions process and representing the school at recruitment events across Canada and the northeastern United States. Reporting to the Manager of Student Services, the role combines outreach, event coordination, and supervision of student ambassadors.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute virtual and in‑person recruitment initiatives, including travel to schools, fairs, conferences, and open houses.
- Deliver presentations to prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors about programs, admission criteria, financial aid, and career pathways.
- Respond to complex inquiries from applicants and stakeholders regarding admissions policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain recruitment communications, promotional materials, and digital content in partnership with university teams.
- Manage logistics for events such as campus tours, orientation activities, and audition days.
- Prepare reports on recruitment metrics, participation statistics, and budget expenditures.
- Review applications for completeness and ensure adherence to admission timelines.
- Supervise student ambassadors and casual student staff, handling recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Required profile
- Experience in higher‑education recruitment, admissions, or related outreach activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse audiences.
- Ability to travel regularly and manage multiple events simultaneously.
- Demonstrated organizational and reporting capabilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in preparing print and digital recruitment materials.
- Experience with event logistics and coordination.
- Familiarity with university admission procedures and policies.
