Student Aquatics Labourer – Part‑Time

About the role

This temporary, part‑time position is designed for a student who will support the maintenance and operation of several municipal aquatic facilities. The role runs from late June to early September, offering up to 24 hours of work per week across four locations.

Key responsibilities

• Empty exterior recycling and garbage bins and place garbage bags in dumpsters.
• Sort and set out recycling for curb‑side collection on the appropriate day.
• Vacuum and scrub pool basins and decks daily; clean pool fouling as needed.
• Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, urinals, mirrors and stalls; restock paper‑towel and toilet‑paper dispensers.
• Refill cleaning solution bottles and restock supplies.
• Maintain interior garbage receptacles and respond to facility‑staff calls throughout the day.
• Care for flower beds, including watering and general plant maintenance.
• Rope off and mark sites for rental group bookings and set up related equipment.
• Report safety concerns, incidents or emergencies to supervisors and security personnel.

Required profile

• Enrolled in secondary or post‑secondary education and returning to school next semester.
• At least one month of related experience or a willingness to learn.
• Reliable personal transportation to travel between sites.
• Good attendance record and a positive attitude.
• Ability to perform physical labour and work effectively in a team.
