Strategic Sourcing Category Manager

About the role

Agropur is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Category Manager in St-Hubert, Quebec. The role develops and implements long-term sourcing strategies for dairy and non-dairy ingredient categories, working with internal stakeholders and key suppliers to drive value, support innovation and ensure business continuity across Canada and the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the procurement of dairy and non-dairy ingredients according to a long-term sourcing strategy defined by the company's needs.
• Deliver annual savings of 3% to 5% across Canada and the U.S. through negotiation, supplier changes, reformulation and specification optimization.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts and agreements with key and new suppliers.
• Propose projects to internal partners such as R&D, supported by a business case covering revenue growth, expense reduction and EBITDA impact.
• Develop risk management strategies for the category and monitor global market trends affecting ingredient prices.
• Manage and develop key suppliers using Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) tools.
• Synthesize and communicate complex issues to different audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree is an asset.
• At least 5 years of experience in strategic procurement or a related technical field, including at least 2 years in category management, preferably in a multinational organization.
• Strong business acumen, analytical and operational skills, and a long-term strategic vision.
• Fluency in spoken and written French and English; French is required for positions in Quebec.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Category management and supplier relationship management.
