Store Clerk

About the role

The Store Clerk is responsible for maintaining customer satisfaction and keeping the convenience store clean at all times. Working in the on‑site store at a student residence, you will process transactions quickly and accurately while interacting with students and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level customer service and handle cash, credit and other payment forms.
• Maintain store cleanliness and adhere to food‑handling and safety policies, including OHSA regulations.
• Assist with inventory counts, stock taking and produce required reports.
• Use Campus Living Centres computer software for sales and reporting.
• Handle phone inquiries courteously and communicate pertinent information among staff.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and the franchise agreement with M&M Food Market.
• Complete online and in‑person training, including WHMIS 2015 and GHS system, before regular duties.
• Respect student and guest privacy and follow emergency procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma preferred.
• Cash‑handling experience preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and a positive attitude.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and lift up to 20 lb.
• Willingness to complete required training modules prior to start.
• Ability to work in compliance with OHSA regulations and wear required protective equipment.
