Stationary Engine Mechanic – Operations (2B)

About the role

Under the direction of the Powerhouse Supervisor, the Stationary Engine Mechanic ensures safe and efficient operation of all equipment at the Powerhouse. The role includes maintenance, repair, and tunnel inspection of stationary engines and related instruments.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor stationary steam and refrigeration engines to maintain optimal performance.
• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of equipment and instruments.
• Conduct tunnel inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Required profile

• Hold a 2nd class Steam and B Refrigeration Stationary Engine Mechanic certificate issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec.
• Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including masks, in designated areas.
• English communication level assessed at qualifier level 1.

Required skills

• Steam engine operation and maintenance.
• Refrigeration system maintenance.
